Your Training at PPMM

You can expect to receive this level of training for these key positions in our health centers.

Health Services Specialist

As a health services specialist, you can expect a high-quality, standardized training experience. Our comprehensive training program offers virtual and hands-on experience combined with immersive learning in the health center. You will be working face-to-face with our patients and helping improve health outcomes in your community.

Qualifications

  • This position is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone wanting a career in health care. If you have a positive attitude and desire to serve others, we will train you!

ONBOARDING

  • Affiliate and health center orientation

  • Extensive online learning curriculum

  • Live virtual classroom training focused on patient health education, technical skills, electronic health records system navigation and billing overview

  • 1:1 training with our HSS training team and on-site peer mentors

  • Hands-on skills practice

Registered Nurse

As a registered nurse, you can expect a comprehensive, standardized training process. Our extensive training program combines hands-on experience with immersive learning to ensure you are up to speed on PPMM’s policies and procedures within just ten weeks.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program

  • Current state RN license

  • Current BLS certificate

  • Current ACLS certificate

ONBOARDING

  • Affiliate and health center orientation

  • Virtual classroom training: Protocols and Policies

  • 1:1 training with our RN training team

  • Hands-on skills practice

  • Direct observation from your 1:1 trainer, while providing reproductive health and surgical abortion services

Advanced Clinician Practitioner

Advanced clinician practitioners are the foundation of our care teams. When you join the staff at PPMM, an individualized training plan will be crafted for you that combines online learning, policies and procedures review, virtual classroom training, 1:1 mentoring, and immersive hands-on learning.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited FNP or primary care PA program for comprehensive primary care centers.

  • Current state NP/PA license

  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification

  • Note: We also hire certified nurse midwives (CNMs) and women’s health nurse practitioners (WHNPs) at many of our health centers. Check our job openings for these opportunities.

ONBOARDING

  • ​Weeks 1-2: Affiliate and health center orientation, online learning, policy and procedure review, virtual classroom training

  • Weeks 3-6: 1:1 training with a clinician trainer. Skills assessment and privileging

  • Weeks 6-12: Continued skills training with a clinician trainer, independent practice, 3-month review/reassessment

  • Weeks 12+: Independent practice, 1:1 mentoring, and 6-month review

Family Physician

ONBOARDING

Our supervising physicians provide high quality, evidence-based, compassionate care at PPMM in our NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home community clinic settings. When you join the staff at PPMM, an individualized onboarding plan will be created to introduce you to the teams you will work with and give you time to familiarize yourself with PPMM’s policies as well as local resources.

Qualifications

  • Current state medical licensure and DEA certification;

  • Board certification or board eligibility in family medicine;

  • Experience in delivering prenatal, pediatric and pre/post abortion care;

  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification;

  • Valid state driver’s license and willingness to drive to and work at widely dispersed PPMM health centers, if required.

  • Affiliate and health center orientations

  • Online affiliate training modules

  • Policy and procedure review

  • Paired clinical days with another physician before you begin seeing patients

  • Gradually increased patient load as you familiarize yourself with local resources
